Predust is the first layer of the coating system and plays a key role in adhesion. Applied directly to the substrate, it helps to retain surface water, creates a rough surface and improves bonding with the subsequent adhesive. Thanks to formulations based on both native and heat-treated flours, predust enables:
- Improve the adhesion of the coating system.
- Ensure the product is uniform.
- Prevent areas with insufficient coverage or excessive coating.
The primer, meanwhile, acts as an intermediate layer and is essential for bonding the topcoat. Dispersed in water and formulated to achieve different levels of viscosity, the primer:
- Ensures that the breadcrumbs adhere to the base.
- Provides internal cohesion to the batter.
- Provides flexibility and strength during cooking.
- Can be used as a final coating or as a base for more complex breadcrumb coatings.
